DSL
DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is
an inexpensive alternative for high-speed Internet access. There are two
major types, ADSL and SDSL. ADSL is asymmetrical, which means that the
upstream and downstream speeds are not the same. In SDSL, the upstream and
downstream speeds are the same. For typical Internet access applications,
data is typically being received by the customer, thus ADSL works well. If
you plan on hosting your own servers, SDSL will be a better choice. See our DSL

Availability
Available to SBC phone
customers who are within two miles of an SBC central office or remote
terminal. Approximately 80% of the local SBC telephone customers will
have access to DSL.
